Jami-Lyn Derse, DVM, is the founder of Veterinary Housecall Care, a comprehensive home visit vet service that provides personalized and compassionate care for pets in the Chicagoland area. In addition to operating her housecall practice, Dr. Derse is an emergency and critical care doctor at specialty and emergency animal hospitals in Chicago and the northern suburbs. She has experience providing routine preventative care as well as performing advanced emergency procedures. Dr. Derse primarily works with dogs and cats but has experience with some exotic animals as well.
Dr. Derse received a B.S. in Biology and Zoology from University of Wisconsin-Madison, her doctorate from Ross University of Veterinary Medicine (St. Kitts, West Indies), and did her clinical rotations at the University of Minnesota. She is an active member of the veterinary community, belonging to both the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society and the American Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Derse also speaks at canine rescue groups in the area regarding breed specific topics.
Dr. Derse lives in the northern suburbs with her husband, daughter, German Shorthaired Pointer Emma, Golden Retriever Birdie, and two tabby cats, Brinley and Socks.
